Garage Redo

Okay, so yesterday...my hubbie bubbie and I tackled our garage...all of our shelving we got for free (hand-me-downs and side of the road pick ups). I used the paint with primer already in it, to quickly tackle the paneling. We organized his tools, sports equipment, and garden items...and even made room for my car...yip-eee...we've never had a garage before!

Writing on the Walls, Literally

I have painted every surface in this guest bathroom (minus the toliet :) I intend to add "feet" to the black cabinet to make it look like a piece of furniture....and I also changed the light fixture (this one costs $12). I totally redid this bath for about $75. My friend, Mrs. Julia gave me the idea to have friends sign the walls...kids love this.

Baby Shower, taken to the next level...

Okay, I've just come from the best baby shower ever! And it only cost about $30 for each hostess. Susie Walker is a "hostess with the mostest", and I think she should write a book on how to throw a proper southern party! She's amazing! The punch was ginger ale and pink lemonade (with a cute bow around it). The door was dawned with vintage baby photos in the wreath. I created a monogram piece of artwork for baby Madison that we displayed in the foyer and the invitations (the original painted with mat for everyone to sign). The table's centerpiece was a work of art created from vintage baby finds by Mrs. Susie Walker....you go girl, I learn something every time I come to one of your parties.

Real friends give each other the junk they find!

So, Two of my dear friends went junking last Saturday morning....and brought me some treasures unexpectedly! Wow! I can't tell you how much it meant that they thought of me...so this chair was one of their finds for $2 at a yard sale. My hubbie bubbie was just saying how he wished we had a chair in our closet for him to put his shoes on. And...viola! Literally on my doorstep (thanks to my friends) we have a chair! I simply took off the seat and back, spray painted the metal and recovered the seat with fabric that coordinates with our room. Love it, and it only took my baby's morning nap to complete.

Graphite and Watercolor Portrait

"Two Sisters" was created for mom, Tonja who lives in Houston. She sent me a few snapshots and I used them to create this portrait of these sweet girls together for their grandmother's mantle...I hope she likes it.
