Wicked, the Musical...my inspiration!
I have fallen in love with the soundtrack to Wicked the Musical...so if anyone would like to fly me to London to see it, I would be more than willing to go :) So, I thought with a little glitter...the Wizard of Oz could have a special place in any home.
CASA festival of chairs
This is my next 501 article...so don't tell, but I got this chair for free off the side of the road. With a little sand paper action and some paint...it is cute and can be! Everything looks better with a shoe on it!

"Kate's" Nursery
What happens in the playroom, stays in the playroom.
Here is some fun doodles on the wall I did in our playroom. The large "jetson-like" TV is for our projector screen...and if anyone wondered what this room was for, I put "PLAY" on the wall, just in case. Another favorite saying that graces these walls (not shown) is "What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it is all about?"
Kitchen table with a twist!
This is my kitchen table and chairs that I found initially at Heavenly Things Flea Market. This endevor began when I was in Hancock fabrics, just browsing...and there I saw this funky fabric I just had to have. I purchased the flower print not knowing what I would do with it...when I saw these chairs, I knew! As soon as I bought the chairs, I brought them home and recovered them...I was so excited, I decided I had to go back and buy the table. When I brought the table home, I first primed the top and then matched the fabric colors of creme, chocolate, and RAZORBACK RED. With those colors I painted a verse from John 15 and vines with red roses to match. I love eating breakfast here and sitting my tush on such delightful fabric.
Chest made into a bench
This bench was given to me by my uncle and it was FULL of golf tees! This came in handy when I was playing golf in college, but after the golfing days are over...I needed a bench for my dining room table, which is a door (but that's another story). I painted the chest simply with primer and then added the verse and zebra stripes... anything is better with a little added zebra print, don't you think?
Draw a Chandelier!
So, I didn't have room for a huge chandelier in my home, so I just decided to paint one on the wall. I actually got this idea while visiting my brother in Rome. There were these huge decals you could buy for your home, but they were around 90 Euros, which is about $160! Yikes...I thought that $2 of paint and brushes sounded better!

Chunky Monkey Frames
My husband makes these chunky frames out of old barn wood, or whatever we can find. I then take into account the colors and fabrics in the space it will be hanging in...and then I go to town!!! This was a funky one for a guest bedroom with my daughter's name, "Zoe Blessing Cangelosi" on the top of it. I love it...I makes such a bold and fun statement!

Percy Quinn Paintings
I did this canvas and old suitcase that my mother in law gave me at a state park in Mississippi. I was feeling whimsical when creating the frog princess and wanted to give new life to this worn out suitcase. The suitcase portrays scenes and memories from our Percy Quinn State Park get-a-way and this later became a "thank you gift" for the organizer of the event.

Painted Treasures
I have just spent the day at Ma Sue's house creating some "Southern Signs"...and I love them. With a bit of paint and some cute words...I love the result of funky signs that shall grace the walls of my home and homes of others. I also snagged a lamp from the yard sale...it was my Aunt's and I have big plans for it...I'll show you later!

Inspiration
I feel so blessed. Tomorrow I am headed to my Ma Sue's house (grandma)...she lives in a town of about 400 people...Gamaliel,KY. I am headed there for a yard sale and to encourage my grandma with a visit from ZuZu and me.
With my paints in tote...I will embark on this journey. You never know what you might find at a yard sale of this size. I imagine many treasures are in store for us...many things beckoning to be painted and given new life. I have many ideas in my head and I evened purchased two canvases for the journey...you never know where inspiration might lie.

Create something New everyday!
I try to create something new everyday, whether it be a gift or something to display in my own home. Tomorrow, I have many projects to tackle with cleaning my home and grocery shopping...but I've already carved out some time in my planner...my mom always says, "you make time for things you love." Creating is something I love. So when the sun rises tomorrow...between cleaning, groceries and during ZuZu's nap time...I shall comense my paintings. You see, I've just returned from vacation on the beaches of charming Charleston, South Carolina...and I have been inspired by the artwork and culture and can't wait to get cracking on my projects. Create something everyday!
